About Us
Edvocators was founded by Brooke Vick, M. S. who has more than 20 years in the field of special education as an award-winning teacher and inclusive practices expert. We specialize in assisting students in secondary education (grades 7-12+) with mild/moderate disabilities. A core principle of our work is ensuring students receive a Free and Appropriate Public Education (FAPE) within the Least Restrictive Environment (LRE). We are committed to fostering inclusive educational settings where students with disabilities can thrive alongside their peers. Furthermore, we recognize the importance of preparing students for life beyond high school, and we specialize in creating comprehensive transition plans that empower them to achieve their post-secondary goals. Our areas of expertise encompass a range of disabilities, including Specific Learning Disabilities, Speech/Language Impairments, Other Health Impairments (such as ADHD), Autism, and Emotional Disabilities. We have a specialized understanding of the unique challenges and needs of student-athletes with disabilities. Our unique perspective focuses on the whole child approach. We are a non-attorney advocacy and consulting group.

Our Perspective
Our experience in special education has consistently demonstrated that collaborative partnerships between schools and families yield the best educational outcomes for students, which is our primary mission. Furthermore, a holistic approach by IEP teams, which consider the student's comprehensive needs, fosters not only academic achievement but also social-emotional development and successful post-secondary transitions. Prioritizing student strengths and aspirations, alongside addressing identified needs, acknowledges the multifaceted nature of each learner.
